Lenten Fast and Abstinence Regulations

Everyone 14 years of age or over is bound to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and all the Fridays of Lent. 
Everyone 18 years of age and under 59 years of age is bound to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.


On Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, only one full meatless meal is allowed. Two other smaller meatless meals,  sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one's needs, but together they should not equal another
full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted on these two days.

Finding Hope in Stillness:What Christians Can Learn From Eckhardt Tolle

 

The teachings of Eckhardt Tolle in his book The Power of Now and DVD’s of his talks will be explored by Fr. Steve Brice from a Catholic perspective and by long time student of Tolle’s, Linda Allen.  Each session will provide time to listen, discuss and meditate. We will meet the first four Tuesdays of March from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at St. Anne’s parish.  The first session will cover chapters 1 & 2 of his book.  All are welcome!  Click here for flyer


Faith Alive - Who is my Neighbor? Would you like to deepen your life of faith, prayer, fellowship  and love of neighbor?  Then join a small group in the parish. The Faith Alive program runs free six weeks this Lent.

 

Using the book Who Is My Neighbor (available for $5 each), you will read and reflect on themes from the Gospels, real-life stories that vividly illustrate those themes, and brief passages from the Catechism and other inspiring sources.  Discussion and prayer will round out each meeting.  If you are interested or have questions, sign up sheets are posted in the Gathering Spaces or call Jan Yonke (355-1119) or DeAnn Schubring (432-9779) or stannes.smallgroups@gmail.com for information. 

 

Mystery of Faith – Catholicism 101 - Because of many requests, the Adult Faith Formation Committee will host this series on Monday nights February 15th through March 15th from 6:30 to 8:00 in the Fireside Room. The resource materials can be downloaded from your computer or the office will provide a hard copy upon request. A link will be provided upon request for the materials. Brian Dobeck and Bill Giebel will facilitate this series.

Theology Discussion Group 2010 - A Theology Discussion Group will meet the 2nd Thursday of the month beginning on March 11th and will meet once a month for 9 months @ 7:00 PM. 

 

This group will discuss the book Consider Jesus: Waves of Renewal in Christology by Elizabeth A. Johnson which will be available for purchase.     The facilitator for this group will be Annette Staubs.
